i don’t re//member

In private, I recorded myself telling a story that I’d never told anyone before. Then, after about six months, I burned the story to a DVD and recorded myself watching the hour-long story nine times in a row, simultaneously the sole audience member to a self-performed impromptu lesescenario, and primary protagonist to a new one. The videos were shot in front of a green screen, and edited so that each has a unique audio track, fragments of the original story, which when put into space create waves of degraded words and sound. Installed as a nine-channel video installation on separate, identical monitors, the piece may be seen and heard as a complex, but unified, immersive psychological landscape.

Below is a very short excerpt in composite view, which is a composite view of videos 1 through 9, along with several views of the piece in its installation formats.
